Mercy in Me Free Medical Clinic held its annual walk in Chesterfield on Nov. 4. The faith-based organization provides free medical care to uninsured individuals who meet certain financial criteria. The annual walk is one of the primary fundraisers hosted by the organization, which provided more than $1 million dollars in medical services in its first year of operation.

According to Linda Roberts, fund-raising team leader, the walkathon was expected to be larger with several new activities, including a corn hole tournament.

“The event was planned with an emphasis on wholesome entertaining activities for the entire family where everyone can come together, enjoy a day filled with good times, good memories, and raising funds for the clinic in a God-centered atmosphere,” said Roberts.

Event planners also say that this is the perfect time of year for the walkathon where participants can enjoy the natural beauty of Chesterfield and especially Craig Park.

One new feature this year was the Great Golden Pumpkin Hunt, where pumpkins were hidden in locations along the walking route.
