FLORENCE — The Pee Dee Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Assault will hold a Victim Advocate Certification Training from 5 to 9 p.m. on Dec. 5, 6 and 8.
Participants who want certification must attend all three days. The location will be announced at a later date.
All participants must complete an application due by Nov. 25. To apply, pick up a volunteer packet at the coalition’s office at 220 S. Irby St., Florence, S.C. Complete all enclosed forms as well as the quizzes. The materials covered on the quizzes can be found online at www.peedeecoalition.org/volunteer. The quizzes must be turned in by Nov. 30 by either email or brought to the Pee Dee Coalition’s offices in Florence.
Topics covered will be: Domestic Violence 101; Dating Violence; Violence Against Women Act (VAWA); Laws of Domestic Violence; Sexual Assault 101; Laws of Sexual Assault; Child Abuse; Special Populations; Cultural Diversity; Advocacy Skills; Communication; Crisis Counseling Skills; and Volunteer Expectations.
