Ralph W. Lisenby, 84, of Chesterfield, died Monday, Aug. 11, 2003.

A funeral service was held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13 from Hopewell Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery with Masonic Rites.

Memorials may be made to Hopewell Baptist Church, Building or Van Fund, 15066 Highway 9, Chesterfield, S.C. 29709.

Born in Chesterfield, Mr. Lisenby was a son of the late Leander G. and Louise Fincher Lisenby. He attended business college and was a retired service station owner and operator. Mr. Lisenby was a lifelong member of Hopewell Baptist Church for over 40 years. For over 50 years he was a member of Chesterfield Masonic Lodge 220, was a member and past Master of the Excelisiory Chapter 23 and Excelisiory Council 9, and was a member of Delphi Commandary 8 in Bennettsville. He was a member of Omar Shrine Temple in Charleston, and was a former member and past Patron of the Order of the Easter Star.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Vivian Rivers Lisenby of the home; a son, Wayne A. (Johnsie) Lisenby of Blythewood; two granddaughters, Carmen L. (Mark) Spencer and Paula L (Joe) Malski of Greensboro, N.C.; and a great-grandson, Mark Edward Spencer of Chesterfield.

He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Effie Gulledge Lisenby; and two brothers, H. Mendel Lisenby and Laurens M. Lisenby.

Arrangements were entrusted to Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.
