A funeral service was held at noon Saturday, Dec. 13 from Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
Born in Marlboro County, Mr. Strong was a son of the late John and Annie Strong, and was the widower of Mary Etta Bennett Strong. He served on the Board of Trustees of the Wallace Family Life Center, was a master carpenter and minor league baseball player.
Surviving are five sons, Craven and Eldridge of Bennettsville, and Vincent, Darrin and Clay of Hamlet, N.C.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, John Strong of Bennettsville; a sister, Annie Williams of Bennettsville; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Arrangements were entrusted to Grooms Funeral Home.
