Victoria Boan Quick, 86, of Bennettsville, died Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at the Edwin P. Morgan Center.

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 12 from Thomas Memorial Baptist Church. Burial followed in Sunset Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Scotland County, P.O. Box 1033, Laurinburg, N.C. 28352; or Thomas Memorial Baptist Church, 308 W. Main St., Bennettsville, S.C. 29512.

Born in Chesterfield, Mrs. Quick was a daughter of the late Sam and Hattie Cranford Boan. She worked most of her married life beside her late husband, Fred Boyd Quick, in their business, Quick's Grocery. She was an active member of Thomas Memorial Baptist Church where she was a member of the Catherine Sowell Sunday School Class. She was a worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are two daughters, Catherine (Penny) McLaurin of Laurinburg, N.C., and Freida (Lewis) Parker of Tipton, Ind.; a brother, Prentiss Boan of Sumter; two sisters, Eva Neil Leviner of Bennettsville, and Lily Mae Sheppard of Greensboro, N.C.; four grandchildren, Mac (Catherine) McLaurin of McColl, Boyd (Sharlene) McLaurin of Laurinburg, Kathy (Jay) Vorisek of Carmel, Ind., and Paige (Thad) Miller of Carmel; and seven great-grandchildren, Katie McLaurin, Gibson McLaurin, Laney McLaurin, Jack Miller, Parker Miller, Ben Vorisek and Caroline Vorisek.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Sam Boan, R.T. Boan, Leroy Boan, Charles Boan and James Boan.

Arrangements were entrusted to Whitner-Evans Funeral Home.
