Rosetta Evans "Etta" Greene, 79, of Patrick, died Oct. 17, 2004 at Chesterfield General Hospital.

A funeral service was held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21 from The Church in the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, Inc., Chesterfield, with Elder Joe C. Tisdale officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Born in Chesterfield, Mrs. Greene was a daughter of the late Jule and Roxie Hinson Evans, and was the widow of John D. Greene. She was baptized in The Church in the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith where she was a missionary, member of the Whole Truth Gospel Choir and Chesterfield Prayer Band.

Surviving are six children, Carolyn Burr of Patrick, John (Virginia) Greene Jr. of Cheraw, Robert E. Greene of Charlotte, N.C., Theodore (Pearlie) Greene of Cheraw, Willie Greene of Patrick, and Peggie (Lawrence) Hannahan of Darlington; a stepson, Junious Greene of Landover, Mary.; a brother, Jule L. Evans of Alexandria, Va; three sisters, Lila Mae (Sunny) Tucker of Falls Church, Va., Dennie Figgins of Alexandria, and Nural Evans of Fredericksburg, Va.; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of other family and friends..

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Isiah Evans and Lee Melvin Evans; and three sisters, Doreatha Davis, Eula Mae McQueen and Roberta McFarlin.

Arrangements were entrusted to Flemming Funeral Home.
