Helen I. Utsler, 85, of Cheraw and formerly of Navarre, Ohio, died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004 in Cheraw following a period of declining health.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31 from Spidell Funeral Home in Brewster with Pastor Denny Hazen officiating. Burial will be in the Union Lawn Cemetery in Navarre.

Born in Brewster, Ohio, Mrs. Utsler was a daughter of the late Victor H. and Myrtle L. Jackson Smith, and the widow of John R. Utsler. She had lived most of her life in the Navarre/Brewster area.

Surviving is a daughter, Beth (Michael) Jordan of Massillon, Ohio; three sons, Robert (Naomi) Utsler of Cheraw, Terry (Sue) Utsler of Massillon, and Tim (Kathi) Utsler of Navarre; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Marie Brediger of Massillon; two brothers, Henry Smith of Beach City and Victor Smith of Navarre.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Jaeck, a granddaughter, a brother, George and a sister Elizabeth DeCeuster.
