BEAUFORT - James "Jim" Lee Sansbury, 58, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005 in Beaufort Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27 from the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home. Burial followed in Beaufort National Cemetery with military honors.

Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans, c/o 702 Battery Creek Road, Beaufort, S.C. 29902; or Friends of The Hunley, Warren Lasch Conservation Center, 1250 Supply St., Building 255, North Charleston, S.C. 29405.

Born in Mullins, Mr. Sansbury was a son of the late Isaac W. Sansbury and Louise Livingstone Sansbury. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Sansbury worked as a certified water/wastewater operator across the southeastern U.S. for more than 20 years.

Surviving are a daughter, Tina L. Griggs of Beaufort; his companio9n, Jean Herrington of Beaufort; two stepsons, Johnny Maxim and Randy Maxim of Maine; two brothers, Edwin Sansbury of Raleigh, N.C., Gene "Pete" Sansbury of Columbia; and three step-grandchildren.

Arrangements were entrusted to Anderson Funeral Home.
