HARTSVILLE - W.B. "Buddy" Morrell, 71, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2005.

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9 from Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Bob Cline officiating. Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Lake Marion Baptist Church State Missions, 1182 Scott Lake road, Summerton, S.C. 29148.

Born in Darlington County, Mr. Morrell was a son of the late Robert Albert and Grayce Bryant Morrell. He graduated from Hartsville High School and attended the University of South Carolina. Mr. Morrell played football at Hartsville High and was chosen MVP in the Regional All-Star game. He was owner and operator of Pageland Manufacturing and was a member of Hartsville Masonic Lodge 173. Mr. Morrell was a member of Lake Marion Baptist Church where he was a Sunday School teacher and Deacon.

Surviving are his wife, Beth Thomas Morrell of Hartsville; a daughter, Vickie (Chip) Tinsley of Hartsville; a son, Kyle (Laurie) Morrell of Cheraw; two brothers, Robert (Carroll) Morrell of Lincolnton, N.C., and Gary Morrell of Hartsville; a granddaughter, Jennifer (Johnny) Sanders of Hartsville, two grandsons, Kaleb Morrell and Jacob Morrell both of Cheraw; a great grandchild, Kinsey Sanders of Hartsville; and a special aunt and cousin.

Arrangements were entrusted to Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home.
