CHERAW - Claude McQueen, 75, died Monday, March 7, 2005 at his home.

A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 12 from Smithville A.M.E. Zion Church. Burial followed in the McQueen Family Cemetery.

Born in Chesterfield County, Mr. McQueen was a son of the late Elbert and Laura Spencer McQueen. He attended the public schools of Chesterfield County and had lived in Shenango Valley, Penn., since 1989. Mr. McQueen was employ with Wheatland Tube Company as a pipe threader and retired from the company in August 1989. He was a member of Valley Baptist Church, Farrell, Penn.

Surviving are two daughters, Claudette McQueen of Erie, Penn., and Yvonne (the Rev. Russell V.) Penn Jr. of Hermitage, Penn.; two sons, Ronnie B. (Sheila) McQueen and Donald A. McQueen all of Erie; two sisters, Norma (Enoch) Brown of Highland Falls, N.Y., and Annette (George) Murff of Lawson, Okla.; two brothers, Howard (Lucille) McQueen and Fletcher (Ollie M.) McQueen all of Cheraw; two grandsons, David Jackson IV and Justin McQueen; two granddaughters, Brittney Penn and Brianna McQueen; and a number of other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Sallie McQueen and Dorenza Finkles, and three brothers, Henry F. McQueen, Albert McQueen and Floyd McQueen.

Arrangements were entrusted to Reid's Funeral Home.
