MARIETTA, GA. - John R. Hall, 87, died Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at his home.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 8 from the Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. Entombment followed.

Born in Ambrose, Ga., Mr. Hall was a son of the late John Sibley and Elizabeth Harper Hall, and the widower of Gladys Hall. Mr. Hall was retired comptroller of Harlee-Quattlebaum Construction Company. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Florence and a United States Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Hall was a former resident of the Palmetto Shores section of Florence.

Surviving are a daughter, Lynn Harmon of Raleigh, N.C.; two sons, David (Kathy) Hall of Marietta, and Jeff (Lisa) Hall of Rock Hill; grandchildren, Danielle Jelley of Garner, N.C., Amanda (Kostas) Theodosiadis of Raleigh, N.C., Todd Hall and Parker Hall of Rock Hill, Tyler Hall of Cheraw, and Murphy Hall of Marietta; and two great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were entrusted to Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
