A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2 from Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. William L. Sheals officiating. Burial followed in Melwood Cemetery.
Born in Mt. Croghan, Mr. Sellers was a son of the late Coston Sr. and Beatrice Sellers McBride. He was a member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church where he was active in the Gospel Choir, Men of Faith Choir and Mission Ministry. A graduate of Pageland High School, Mr. Sellers attended York College in Queens, N.Y., where he studied music. He was employed with Pan American Airlines for 25 years.
Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Betty Garrett Sellers; two brothers, Coston (Malinda) Sellers Jr. and David (Lethia) Sellers; a sister, Mary (Thomas) Sturdivant; two aunts, Jessie Burch and Nezzie Burch of Chesterfield; five sisters-in-law, Mary Mallory, Bobbie Groce, Catherine (Raymond) Harris, Eula (Jesse) Struggs; a brother-in-law, Larry (Ruth) Garrett; and a number of other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father- and mother-in-law, James and Pearline Garrett.
Arrangements were entrusted to Donald Trimble Mortuary.
