A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 14 from Dudley Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Born in Pageland, Mrs. Deese was a daughter of the late Samuel Stoy and Florence Griffin McManus. She was a retired nurse.
Surviving are a son Mickey Deese of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter Judy Canup of Tampa, Fla.; three brothers Ted McManus of Monroe, N.C., and Hal McManus and Stoy McManus of Pageland; two sisters, Mavis Strawn and Edna McManus of Pageland; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were entrusted to Sutton Funeral Home.
