A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 20 from Bethune Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Cockrell officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Born in Chesterfield County, Mrs. Adams was a daughter of the late James Edwin and Nell E. Rivers, and was the widow of Jady C. "Buddy" Adams. She was a member of the Bethune Baptist Church and owner of Frances's Beauty Shop.
Surviving are a daughter, Zoe Anne (Stephen W.) Allston of Columbia; a grandson, Stephen Adams Livingston of Columbia; a sister, Jean R. (A. Grier) Westbrook of Catawba; and two brothers, James Donald Rivers and Edwin Dalton Rivers of Thompson, Ga.
She was preceded in death by two siblings, Cannie R. Thomas and Kate R. Zuver.
Arrangements were entrusted to Norton Funeral Home.
