A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 11 from Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Born in Pageland, Mr. Deese was a son of Olon and Ollie Threatt Deese. He had been employed with Weyerhaeuser Co. and was a United States Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Linda H. Deese of Pageland; a son, Rodney Deese of Pageland; a brother, J.T. Deese of Pageland; and three sisters, Barbara Yearings of Pageland, Vertie Riggins of Charlotte, N.C., and Genevieve James of Lancaster.
Arrangements were entrusted to Sutton Funeral Home.
