A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 28 from Mount Olivet Baptist Church.
Born in Darlington County, Mr. Byrd was a son of Travis M. and Joyce Sterling Byrd Sr. He was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and was a certified welder with various companies throughout the southeast.
Surviving are a daughter, Elizabeth Logan Byrd of Patrick; a brother, T. J. (Jessica) Byrd of Society Hill; a special friend, Melissa Kitchen of Society Hill; mother of Elizabeth Logan Byrd, Jennifer Goforth of Patrick; his grandfather, Raymond Byrd of Society Hill; and his grandmother, Annie Starling of Society Hill.
He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Charlotte Byrd, and a grandfather, Calhoun Starling.
Arrangements were entrusted to Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home.
