Wallace was an athletic standout at Cheraw High School where he earned a scholarship to play football at Duke University.
"Benjy was a very outgoing, very athletic guy," Wallace's friend, Phillip Leviner, said. "No one would have ever thought anything was wrong with him. I don't even think he knew anything was wrong with him."
