CHESTERFIELD - Mary Chapman Hurst, 78, died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2005.

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 from Shiloh United Methodist Church. Burial followed in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens.

Born in Marlboro County, Mrs. Hurst was a daughter of the late Zack Dewitt and Inez Eveleigh Chapman. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Hurst was a faithful member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her husband of 62 years, James Chappell Hurst Sr. of the home; a son, James Chappell (Janice) Hurst Jr. of Lancaster; two grandchildren, Deborah Walley of Charlotte, N.C., and James Chappell Hurst III of Rock Hill; and a brother, William Chapman of Rock Hill.

Arrangements were entrusted to Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.
