BLENHEIM - James Wilson “J.W.” Freeman, 63, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2005 in Marlboro Park Hospital.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25 from Parnassus United Methodist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Sandhills Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 930, Cheraw, S.C. 29520; the Autism Foundation or to the Correctional Peace Officers Association.

Born in Marlboro County, Mr. Freeman was a son of Beatrice Freeman Driggers and the late Morris Driggers. He was a member of Parnassus United Methodist Church, was a United States Army veteran and was a retired textile worker.

Surviving are his wife, Peggy Joyce Freeman; a son, James (Leola) Freeman Jr. of Bennettsville; a daughter Penny (Adam) Boone of Wallace; his mother of Bennettsville; a sister, Gladys Jordan of Lancaster; a brother, Carl Driggers of Bennettsville; four grandchildren, James “Jamie” Freeman III of Blenheim, Garon Freeman of Bennettsville, A.J. Boone of Wallace, and Ariel McCormick of Cheraw; and several half-sisters and half-brothers

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Arrangements were entrusted to Cooper Funeral Home.
