A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 2, from Cash Baptist Church with the Rev. Marty Watkins officiating. Burial followed in Chatham Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Wayne Dean, Ralph Grant, Mitch Dean, Tommy English, Jimmy White, Johnny White, Terry Chapman and Brad Chapman.

Born in Chesterfield County, Mrs. Cagle was a daughter of the late Zechariah and Catherine Grant of the Teals Mill Community. She graduated from Cheraw High School, and after marrying the late Deber Cagle of Asheboro, N.C., on Dec. 25, 1941, they lived in Wilmington, N.C., Norfolk, Va., Asheboro, N.C., and Rock Hill. In 1966, they moved to a 25-acre farm near Teals Mill where they lived until Mr. Cagle's passing in April 1996.
Mrs. Cagle was a devout Christian and a faithful member of Cash Baptist Church prior to her illness; she loved singing in the choir.
Surviving are two children, Doris Cagle Helms of Cheraw, and Edward “Ed” F. (Claire) Cagle of Florence; three grandsons, Chris Cagle of Dripping Springs, Texas, Mark Helms of Rock Hill, and Eric Helms of Simpsonville.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Ed Helms; two brothers, Tildon Grant and Griffin Grant; and four sisters, Leona Grant Robeson, Mattie Grant Naylor, Marie Grant Kirkley and Ethel Grant Outen.
Arrangements were entrusted to Kiser Funeral Home.
