A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8 in the First United Methodist Church of Cheraw. Burial followed in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens.

Born in Florence, Mrs. Brasington was a daughter of Edyce Jackson Brasington and the late Jasper Leo Brasington Jr. She graduated from Columbia College and earned her post-graduate degrees from the University of South Carolina. For many years, Ms. Brasington served as a public school librarian and currently served on the Library Staff at Northeastern Technical College. At an early age, Ms. Brasington was active in the Girl Scouts of America and served as an assistant scout leader. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cheraw, a member of the New Horizons Sunday School Class, and a member of the Chancel Choir.
Surviving are her mother of Cheraw; two sisters, Nonie Brasington (Steve) Turner of Houston, Texas, and Kathy Brasington (Jim) Bartlett of Chapel Hill, N.C.; and a nephew, Andy Turner of Houston.
She was predeceased by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Brasington Sr. of Cheraw, and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Allen Jackson of Timmonsville.
