A Cheraw woman was killed Wednesday morning in Marlboro County in a single-car accident as she traveled to school.
The S.C. Highway Patrol said Kimberly Melton, 20, of Clyde Avenue, Cheraw, died in the crash on U.S. 1.
Reports indicate she was on her way to Richmond Community College in Rockingham, N.C., when the accident occurred. No other information was available at press time.
