A funeral service was held Thursday, Feb. 9 from Piney Grove A.M.E. Zion Church, Pageland. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
A native of Chesterfield County, Mr. Allen was a son of the late Richard “Dee” Dunlap and Etta Burch Allen.
Surviving are a son, Alexander Blakeney of Pageland; a daughter, Marie Etta Blakeney of Pageland; six brothers, Charlie (Mary) Allen, Clemson (Rosa Lee) Allen, Louis (Hattie) Allen and Ronnie Allen of Pageland, Truman Choplin of Charlotte, N.C., and Dewey Dunlap of Winston-Salem, N.C.; seven sisters, Etta (Francis) Burch, Marion (Johnny) Balthrop, Elise (Robert) Jordan, Rebecca McCray, Myrtle Nicholson, Eliza Allen and Sarah Dunlap of Pageland.
Arrangements were entrusted to King Funeral Home.
