A funeral service was held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 28 from Fairview Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Born in Chesterfield County, Mr. Joplin was a son of the late Edward and Nettie Jordan Joplin. He was a retired Chesterfield County employee and attended Fairview Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Roxie Mills Joplin of the home; three sons, Thomas (Gail) Joplin of Patrick, Danny (Millie) Joplin of Cassatt, and Junior (Tara) Joplin of Mt. Croghan; a daughter, Shirley (Harry) Donahue of Mt. Croghan; a brother, Glenn Joplin of Kannapolis, N.C.; three sisters, Bobbie Holbrook and Ruby Self of Kannapolis; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were entrusted to Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.
