The Chesterfield baseball squad picked up three region wins in three attempts and claimed a share of the 2006 region crown. Andrew Jackson, Lee Central and Cheraw all suffered losses to the Rams. Chesterfield defeated Cheraw on Sunday to give them a share of the region title.

The Rams picked up a win in Cheraw, 7-3. Richie Dixon earned the victory on the mound for the Rams and increased his season record to 7-1. Dixon struck out seven Braves and surrendered one earned run in seven innings of work.

Dustin Gooden was the leading hitter in the game for the Rams as he went 2-3 with two doubles.

The win for the Rams clinched a share of the region title. If Chesterfield wins, this will be the third year straight the Rams have claimed the Region 8 title.

Chesterfield disposed of the Lee Central Stallions on the Stallions home field Friday night by the final score of 12-7. Joselle Bracy picked up his first win of the season on the mound for the Rams.

Leading hitters for the Rams were Patrick Barefoot 3-4 with two doubles, and Richie Dixon 3-4 with two doubles. Bracy also helped out when he blasted a two-run homer in the victory.

Chesterfield took care of business against the Andrew Jackson Vols last Tuesday. The Rams defeated the Vols 4-2 at home.

Jeremy Curtis picked up his first victory of the season against the Vols.

Nick Dixon led the Rams at the plate going 2-3 on the night with an RBI.

The win for the Rams kept their chance at a region title alive.

The Chesterfield increased its season record to 13-5 and 8-2 in the region. The Rams face-off with Central Monday in Cheraw to see who will capture the first place seed. The Rams' playoff opponent will be determined after the game against the Eagles.
