Golf is a year round sport for the Elmores' of Cheraw. Baker and McCuen Elmore have been playing golf since they were knee high. Baker graduated from Cheraw High School in 2005 and McCuen graduated in 2006. As Braves' golfers, the brothers began their careers and established themselves as two of the best young golfers in the state. As outstanding high school golfers, the Elmore brothers received multiple awards and won multiple tournaments; “putting” Cheraw onto the map as a premier AA golf school.

“Baker and McCuen have always enjoyed golf. They felt like if they could not go to the golf course and play golf, they were being punished. It has not been hard punishing them as they grew older, because they just have a true love for the sport and want to be on the course. They drive each other. They are each other's biggest fan and also each other's biggest competitor. They are always working hard; they help each other get better,” their father, Mike Elmore, said.

Now that Baker and McCuen have graduated, their parents will spend their time traveling to collegiate golf matches. Baker is attending USC, playing golf for the Gamecocks. McCuen is undecided where he would like to continue his golf career. Among the schools piquing McCuen's interest are Vanderbilt, Clemson, USC, Kentucky, and Ole Miss. However, the schools closest to home are the more popular ones with McCuen.
