A funeral service was held at noon Thursday, June 22, from Union Baptist Church.
A private burial followed.
Born in Cheraw, Mrs. McCandies was a daughter of the late Edmond Davis and Nellie Harris Davis. She was a resident of Stamford for more than 45 years and a member of Union Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Ollie McCandies Jr. of Burlington, N.C.; a son, Tyron Davis of Cheraw; a brother, Elbert (Ida Mae) Davis of Cheraw; three sisters, Jessie Simmons and Aletha Davis of Stamford, and Dorothy Robinson of Cheraw; a nephew, John (Helen) Davis of Stamford; and a number of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Davis and Henry Davis; and two sisters, Clara Davis and Ruth Harrison.
Arrangements were entrusted to Downer Funeral Home Inc.
