From Staff Reports

With Sept. 19, the cutoff date for filing, fast approaching, no one has filed to run for the District 1 School Board seat to be vacated by Mark Tucker.

As of press time, only four are in the race for school board seats, although six people picked up candidate packets for the Chesterfield County School Board.

The four who have returned packets are incumbent Council Porter of Cheraw, District 9; Wesley Miles of Jefferson, District 3; Darin Coleman of Mt. Croghan, District 2; and Charles J. Davis, District 3.

Miles has served on the Advisory Council for eight years.

Peggy D. Robeson of Chesterfield, Danny C. Holley of McBee, and Betty T. Howle of Patrick have filed to run for the School District Advisory Council.
