BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Mary Louise Patrick, 64, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006.

A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6 from St. James A.M.E. Zion Church with the Revs. Diane C. Belk, Donna Butler and Madgeree Merriman officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Born in Chesterfield County, Mrs. Patrick was a daughter of the late Jessie L. Chapman and Annie Marie Mumford Chapman. She was educated in the public schools of Chesterfield County and was a member of St. James A.M.E. Zion Church until moving to New York. There, Mrs. Patrick joined Tabernacle Baptist Church and was a member until her health failed.

Surviving are her husband, James C. Patrick of Brooklyn; two sons, Charles Patrick of Mooresville, N.C., and Clifton Patrick of Pittsfield, Mass.; two daughters, Deborah Patrick and Charlene Patrick of Brooklyn; seven grandchildren, Michael, Garry, Joshua, Cierra, Tamia, Zaquan and Tiana; a great-granddaughter, Gabrielle; three sisters, Madgaree (James) Merriman, Lorine (Emanuel) Hough and Doris (Earl) Xavier; two brothers, Lee Manuel (Bernice) Chapman and Lee Curtis (Minnie Ree) Chapman; a brother-in-law, Johnny (Frances) Patrick; three sisters-in-law, Edith (Edward) Jenkins, Bernice Quick and Wanda Cole; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Arrangements were entrusted to Grooms Funeral Home.
