A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13 from Westfield Creek Baptist. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Born in Chesterfield, Mr. Russell was a son of the late William Ferris and Mary Eliza Teal Russell. He retired from Delta Woodside after 39 years and was a member of Westfield Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Russell was an avid hunter, fisherman and wrestling fan.
Surviving are a son, Danny K. (Jenny) Russell of Matthews, N.C.; a daughter, Brenda R. (Ronnie) Crowley of Ruby; a sister, Bernice R. (Reece) Roscoe of Cheraw; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were entrusted to Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.
