A funeral service was held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 from Mount Harmon Baptist Church with the Revs. H.E. Dickson and R.J. Knox officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Born in Pageland, Mr. Blakeney was a son of the late Printice and Mae Lee Bracy Blakeney. He attended public schools in Chesterfield County and was a member of Mount Harmon Baptist Church.
Surviving are three brothers, Hurley Blakeney of Mt. Croghan, and Lee Kirby Blakeney and James Blakeney of Pageland; and four sisters, Jerlean Price, Lola Blakeney, Cathy Cole and Patricia Hammonds of Pageland.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Polly Blakeney and Lilly M. Louallen; and a brother, Pete Bracey.
Arrangements were entrusted to McCray Funeral.
