A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Dec. 31, 2006, at Cheraw Family Worship Center.
Mrs. Beverly was a daughter of Bobby Bruce Curtis and the late Virginia Duckworth Curtis. She was attending Northeastern Technical College, where she was majoring in the arts to become a teacher. She was a substitute teacher for Wallace Elementary-Middle School, Cheraw High School and Marlboro County High School.
She was a bus driver and cafeteria worker, and will be remembered as a second mother to many who were close to her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Beverly.
Surviving are two children, Barbara Diane Jean Beverly and Eric Curtis; two siblings, Zane and Allen Curtis; and grandchildren, Matthew Troy Alexander Curtis and Morgan Curtis.
Norton Funeral Home of Cheraw served the Beverly family.
