A funeral was held at 2 p.m. Jan. 13, at Goodman Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Cheraw. Burial was held in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Mason was born Oct. 10, 1933, the daughter of the late Rev. C.W. Funderburk and Mrs. Anna Crawford Funderburk.
She was the 16th of 18 children and was educated in Chesterfield County Schools and attended Coulter Academy. Receiving Christ at an early age, she joined Goodman Creek Baptist Church then moved to Brooklyn, NY and found a new church home in Proverbs Church of God In Christ. There she was a pastor aid and mother of the church. Mrs. Mason moved back to Cheraw, rejoined Goodman Creek Baptist Church where she sang with the Mass Choir and Senior Choir, praise team, Missionary Society and pastor aid.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Carl Ash Jr. and LeConda Mason.
Surviving are her son, Larry Calvin Ashe of Cheraw; daughter, Margaret Ann Cue Tate of Cheraw; grandchildren, Raphael Javier Gadson of Cheraw, Sherse (Shon) Dingle and Saquina Ash both of Florence, Ebony Ash of Columbia, Andrew Ash and Andray Ash both of Brooklyn, NY; three great-grandchildren, Lou Ash, Calvin and Michael Dingle of Florence; two sisters, Viola Bridges of Cheraw and Margarine Funderburk of Brooklyn, NY.
Reid's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
