The funeral was at 3:30 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church. The Rev. Woods officiated. Burial was held in Montrose Cemetery.
Mr. Hailey was born Oct. 20, 1927, a son of the late John and Lena Hailey.
He grew up in Cash Community where he also attended school. And received Christ at an early age and became a member of Macedonia Baptist Church where he served until his health failed. Mr. Hailey was a member of the Trustee Board.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Earline Hailey; a daughter, Evonne Brown; two brothers, Buster and Son John Hailey; and a sister, Mary Jane McClendon.
Surviving is three children, Rose Mae (Thomas) Bethea, Rivers (Willa Dean) Hailey Jr., Barbara Ann (Julius) Stubbs; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Katherine Hailey, Mary L. Sellers both of Cheraw, Rosa Emmanuel of Buffalo, NY, Carrie Young of Hartsville, Maggie Hubbard of Bennettsville; two brothers, Jack (Ida) Hailey of Cheraw, Joe Lewis Sellers of Farrell, PA and other relatives and friends.
Grooms Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
