1928, a son of William and Ophelia Welch Gulledge. He was a resident of
Archdale since 1947, a member of High Point Friends Meeting, the Brotherhood
Sunday School Class, an Usher, a member of the Ruby South Carolina Hunt
Club, and the Pee Dee Field trial. Johnnie was employed with North State
Communications for 41 years. On May 19, 1951 he married the former Olena
Staley who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, he survived by two sisters, Mildred Thurman of Ruby, Dorothy Giles of Blue
Springs, MO; one brother; Jady Gulledge of Ruby and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by three brothers, Travis, Bobby, and Howard
Gulledge.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. June 16, at
High Point Friends Meeting with Pastor. Kelly Kellum officiating. Burial
will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Friday at Cumby Family Funeral Service on Eastchester Drive.
