
Chesterfield's Timmy Wright earned big pinfall wins against Indian Land and Buford to help the Rams secure the region title.

CHESTERFIELD --- The Chesterfield wrestling team added another title to their long list of achievements over the years; region champions. The Rams defeated Indian Land, Buford and North Central to take home this year’s region crown.
The Rams faced North Central first and dominated from beginning to end. Chesterfield won the match 69-9.
The next match was the match of the evening. The Chesterfield High School gym was filled with emotion. The battle was between the Rams and Indian Land; the two top-ranked teams in the state in Class A.
Indian Land took the first two matches, but Chesterfield came storming back with two wins of their own. Then the next few matches were traded and then Chesterfield went on a run that secured the win. The Rams would go on to win the match 50-15.
In the final match of the evening, the Rams destroyed Buford 68-10.
On Jan. 9, the Rams took home their second consecutive Blue Devil Invitational title. Chesterfield battled schools from all classifications and dominated the competition, scoring 199.5 points during the tournament. Ian Harper, Matt Moore, Elijah Burr and Carlos Robinson all won their respective weight classes during the tournament. The Rams also had a second place finish by Tyler Alley and Josh McCall earned third.
Chesterfield will host the MLK Duals on Monday beginning at 11 a.m.
