Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Aug. 13, in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home. Burial was held in Florence National Cemetery.
Mr. Black was a son of the late Walton L. and Clara McIver Black. He served in the U.S. Armed Forces, attended the University of South Carolina and worked as a welder in the construction business.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Haire Black; a sister, Elizabeth Black Jones and a brother, Walton LeGrand Black, Jr.
Surviving is his sister, Mary McIver Jaillette of Darlington and other relatives and friends.
Belk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
