CHESTEFIELD - Mr. William "Jimmie" Tisdale, 60, died Aug. 18, 2007.

Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Aug. 24, at Davidson Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Chesterfield. Burial was held in the church cemetery. Min. Tomilper Streater officiated.

William was born Jan. 18, 1947, a son of the late Franklin Scott and Elvina T. Williams. He attended Williamsburg County Schools. He was married to the former Evelyn Streater. He accepted Christ at an early age. After moving to Chesterfield, from New Haven, CT, he became a member of Davidson Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a member of the Deacon Board, Trustee Board and men's choir. He was formerly employed with Crown Cork and Seal (Cheraw) and also served as a voluneer fireman with the Ruby-Mt. Croghan Fire Department.

Surviving is his wife of 24 years, Evelyn; a daughter, Donya Tisdale; a grandson, Dorran "Shi" Tisdale, all of Chesterfield; an aunt, Eulis Tisdale of Greeleyville; brothers, David Tisdale of Rochester, NY, Theodore Tisdale (Ann) of Salters, Solomon Williams, Clarence Tisdale and Nehemiah Williams of Hollywood, FL, Kenneth Nelson (Glenda) of Wilmington, NC, Jessie Tisdale (Alberta) of Sumter, Sam Tisdale (Rebecca) and Milton Tisdale (Debra) of Greeleyville, Jean Arthur Williams (Virginia) of Camden and W. Buddy Tisdale of Kingstree; sisters, Sarah Williams of Hollywood, FL, Ethel S. Womble (William) of Baltimore, MD, Mary R. Gunn (Phillip) of Vero Beach, FL, and Hazel Williams of Hollywood, FL; other aunts, Mazzie McClary (Oliver) of Baltimore, MD, Esther Johnson (Charlie) and Willar M. Tisdale of Kingstree and other relatives and friends.

Flemming Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
