CHERAW - Bond hearings were held last week in Cheraw for the four suspects in the robberies of Carolina Bank on Sept. 28 and Sentry Bank and Trust on Oct. 9.

Currently, the four suspects are being held in the Chesterfield County Detention Center.
With the Cheraw Police Department, Marlboro County Sheriff Deputies and the Hamlet, N.C. Police, the suspects were arrested in North Carolina at the intersection of N.C. 38 and N.C. 74 hours after the Sentry Bank robbery. A total of $23, 258 in cash was found in the vehicle at the time of arrest.
Quick slip
The four suspects were stopped by a police officer in Cheraw within minutes after the robbery, but were allowed to leave after the officer was given incorrect information.
According to Brooks, the officer was told the car did not match the description given by a witness . The officer then let the suspects drive away.
"The main thing is that no one was hurt and the suspects are in custody," said Brooks.
