LANCASTER - Mrs. Dorothy Mae Covington Nicholson, 60, died Oct. 8, 2007.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Oct. 13, at Black Creek Baptist Church. Burial was held in the church cemetery.

Dorthy was born Aug. 7, 1947, a daughter of the late Deacon Carl Covington and Rev. Mary Covington. She attended the public schools of Chesterfield County and was a graduate of Petersburg High School, class of 1965. She became a member of Black Creek Baptist Church at an early age.

She worked for Johnson Milling in Monroe, N.C. and was last employed with the Wal-Mart Super Center in Lancaster as a receiving clerk.

She was preceded in death by two children, Mary Denise Nicholson and Charles Nicholson; a sister, Barbara Jean Louallen; a brother, Leroy Covington and two nephews, Paul Price and Eric Price.

Surviving is her husband, Luther Charles Nicholson of Charlotte, N.C.; three sons, Michael Covington and Gary Nicholson both of Pageland and Mitchell (Amanda) Nicholson of Winston Salem, N.C.; three brothers, Willie Thomas Covington, Carl (Sylvia) Covington, Jr. and James Frank (Dorothy) Covington all of Pageland; five grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Flemming Funeral Home of Pageland was in charge of arrangements.
