cberger@thecherawchronicle.com CHERAW - Cheraw Police Dept. received a real surprise when Willing Shaw McSwain, the fifth suspect in the S.C. 9, Carolina Bank robbery entered the Cheraw Police Department doors last Friday to give himself up.
The Carolina Bank robbery took place on Sept. 28, as Leviner entered the bank with a pair of pantyhose over the lower part of his face with the intention to rob it.
Twenty-four year old Willing Shaw McSwain of Southern Pines, N.C., took part in that particular crime along with Steven N. Leviner, Danielle Nicole Fletcher, Casey Brandon Woolard, and Devann Ruth Gilmore.
McSwain is the man who allegedly drove Leviner to and from Carolina Bank during the robbery. He is the fifth suspect that the police have been searching for since the robbery. In conjunction to the Carolina Bank robbery, the suspects later were captured and arrested shortly after they allegedly robbed a second time, the Sentry Bank and Trust, 515 Market Street on Oct. 9 as well.
Municipal Judge J.A. Graves set his bond at $100,000 in the Carolina Bank robbery incident.
