CHERAW - A mock automobile accident will take place in front of Cheraw high school Friday afternoon.

The accident, which is scheduled to take place at 1:15 p.m. is part of the week-long "Prom Promise" program designed to bring awareness to underage drinking and driving.

The school's prom is Friday night.

The accident will involve the S.C. highway Patrol, First Health, EMS, Cheraw Fire Department, Cheraw Police Department, Chesterfield General Hospital and Life Net helicopter. The scene will take place on the band practice field, which is located on the east side of the high school. The "intoxicated" driver will be placed under arrest at the scene of the crash.
