Information sought on bank robbery

WADESBORO- The Anson County Sheriff's Office and the FBI are investigation a bank robbery that occurred at 4:45pm, on Thursday, May 15th. The robbery occurred at First Bank in Polkton. Anson County Sheriff Tommy Allen said that shortly before closing on this day, a suspect entered the bank, armed with a handgun and demanding money. The suspect is described at a black male, approximately six (6) feet tall, 170 pounds, slender build, short hair, wearing sunglasses. The suspect left the bank on foot. An undisclosed amount of money was taken. Officers recovered some of the stolen money some distance from the bank.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call the Anson County Sheriff's Office at 704-694-4188. A reward of up to $1,000 is offered by Crime Stoppers for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
