CHESTERFIELD - Mrs. Evelyn King Wilson, wife of the late Henry Eugene Wilson, Jr., died Tuesday, July 15, 2008

Graveside services were at 11 a.m. July 17, at Chesterfield Cemetery

Visitation followed the service in the St. Paul United Methodist Church Parlor.

Mrs. Wilson was a daughter of the late Charles Thompson and Sallie Woodhurst King. She was a graduate of Lander College with a degree in music. She retired from teaching with the Chesterfield County School District and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. A member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Chesterfield, she served as trustee, membership secretary, chairman of worship, Sunday school teacher, and church organist. She was also involved in numerous civic and cultural activities.

Surviving is a daughter, Catherine Wilson (Paul) Horne of Columbia; a sister, Hilda King McWhorter of Summerville; two grandchildren, Paul Adams Horne, III and Mary Catherine Keown Horne of Columbia.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 305 West Main Street, Chesterfield, S.C. or to Ed Venture Children's Museum, 211 Gervais St., Columbia, S.C. 29201

Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
