Louise Hurst, who recently retired from the Chesterfield County Voter’s Registration Office, was killed when her 2005 Honda struck by the 1999 GMC Sierra pick-up truck driven by Lubert White.
“We received the call around 3:25 p.m.,” said Police Chief Jay Brooks.
According to Cheraw Police Lt. Sandy McCormick, Hurst was pulling out of the parking lot of P&H Pharmacy when the accident occurred.
“By the location of the damage to her car, it looks as if she was attempting to make a left turn out of the parking lot,” said McCormick. “She apparently did not see the other vehicle coming.”
Brooks said no charges have been filed or are pending.
“It was something that just happened, and it is a true tragedy,” said Brooks. “It is sad anytime something like this happens.
It is the second vehicle fatality in Cheraw this year.
