to hold elections Tuesday

CHERAW-- — The Cheraw Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) will hold elections for officials Tuesday at the Robert Smalls Family Center from 6-8 p.m.

All offices in the branch are up for election, including the executive board. 

“We want all persons who are eligible to vote to come out and vote,” said Election Supervisor Ernestine Melton. “It won’t take much time.”

Elected officials serve two-year terms.

The NAACP is opened to people of all races and nationalities to support one common goal: equality. The organization is committed to being a positive member of the community .The NAACP will celebrate it’s centennial next year.

 Memberships are $30 for adults and $10 for youth. More information on the NAACP can be found on www.naacp.org.
