CHESTERFIELD — Barbara Ann Merriman Wilks, 68, died Monday, Jan. 16, 2012.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Jan. 20, at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Zoar United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m., prior to the service.

Mrs. Wilks was born Aug. 23, 1943, in Chesterfield. A daughter of the late Horace Lee “Buck” Merriman and Dorothy Sellers Gaskins. She was a retired employee of Walmart and a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Barbara Ann enjoyed reading and loved her cats, especially “Garfield.” In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Tony Merriman; and by her step-father, Fred E. Gaskins; and grandmother, Beulah Parker.

Survivors are her husband, Robert Jay “Bob” Wilks of the home; three brothers Ronnie L. (Debbie) Merriman of Cheraw, Freddie E. (Helen) Gaskins Of North, S.C., and Bennie Blease Gaskins of Cheraw; also a number of nieces and nephews.

Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home of Chesterfield, is serving the Wilks family.
