Agape Hospice conducted a volunteer training session Jan. 4 at Fisher Hill Community Baptist Church in Cheraw.

The training presenters included Doris Smith, Volunteer Coordinator; Kim Williamson, Volunteer Coordinator Assistant; Chris Sellers, Cheraw Fire Department; Beth Norris, Assistant Patient Care Coordinator; Melonie Adams, Social Worker; and Reverend Johnnie McLendon, pastor of Fisher Hill Community Baptist Church and Agape Chaplain.

Training topics included hospice philosophy, goals and services, confidentiality and hospice patients’/residents’ bill of rights, fire safety, universal precautions, Alzheimer’s disease/dementia, death and dying, grief and bereavement, advance directives, and documentation.
