The duo known as Lucia & Levi is set to perform at The Rack Shack in Cheraw on Saturday, March 31, from 8 to 11 p.m.
Lucia & Levi have been residents of South Carolina for 10 years. They were previously located in Los Angeles, Calif., and ended up back in South Carolina where Levi’s family is originally from. Levi has a direct connection to Cheraw; his grandfather, Levi G. Byrd, lived and founded the South Carolina chapter of the NAACP in Cheraw. Cheraw has even designated a special day and a park to commemorate his achievements.
Levi plays guitar and doubles on tenor sax.
“His years of experience as a guitar player make other ‘wanna be’ guitar players jaws drop open when they hear him play,” says the duo.
Lucia plays keyboards and Blues harp and interacts with the audience.
Both Lucia & Levi perform and interpret a vast repertoire of songs which they have accumulated over the past 25 years.
They cover a variety of material, from Jack Johnson to Bonnie Raitt, Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, as well as jazz, blues, rock & roll, ’70s and ’80s, funk, R&B and more.
