CHESTERFIELD — Jennette Brock Hodge, 91, died March 29, 2012.
Funeral services were held April 1, at Fairview Baptist Church, with burial following in the church cemetery. The family held visitation March 31, at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hodge was born Feb. 20, 1921, in Morven, N.C. a daughter of the late Ervin and Martha Liza Purvis Brock. She was a retired employee of Chesterfield Yarn Mill and was a member of the Pageland Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, Jennette was also preceded in death by her husband Johnnie “Son” Hodge; one daughter, Nyokia Melton; two brothers, Oscar and George Brock; six sisters, Lelia Hodge, Christine Brock, Willie Mae Hodge, Catherine Threadgill, Mary Deese, and Naomi Brock; and one great granddaughter, Hope Roscoe Melton.
Surviving are five sons, Asia (Margie) Hodge of Ruby, Homer (Rachel) Hodge of Ruby, Charles (Reba) Hodge of Lancaster, S.C., Rex (Jackie) Hodge of Chesterfield, and Wayne (Shirley) Hodge of Ruby; five daughters, Audrey (Bob) Parker of Ruby, Bonnie (Pete) Parsons of St. Petersburg Fla., Louise (Maynard) Hancock of Ruby, Betty Boatwright of Columbia, and Judy Campbell of Chesterfield; also 27 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 22 great great grandchildren.
The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to Darlene Lovelace, Linda Driggers, Libby Pigge, Betty Starling and the entire staff of Chesterfield Convalescent Center, and the staff of Hospice of Chesterfield County for the loving care shown to Mrs. Hodge.
